Pinpoint Policy Institute Joins Coalition Urging NYC Council to Reject Delivery Protection Act

News

Pinpoint Policy Institute has joined a coalition of 13 free-market organizations in a letter urging the New York City Council to reject the Delivery Protection Act (Intro. 0518-2026).

The letter, co-signed by Americans for Tax Reform, the National Taxpayers Union, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, and the Empire Center for Public Policy, among others, argues that the bill's new licensing regime and employment mandates, including a $500,000 bond for every non-employee delivery worker, would push out independent businesses, raise costs for consumers, and favor large companies over small competitors, all while 5,100 more New York City businesses closed than opened in 2024-25.
